We focused on Tanmia and their great work to advance Web 3.0 into Morocco in Get The Word Out! In Not Waiting for the World to Change II we featured the opening of the latest Community Access Center (CAC) in Salé. We cannot say we were too surprised to see how positive some of the first results have been.

Group3cac is bringing the future to Morocco

Congratulations Group3cac!

You are not waiting for the world to change - you are changing it!

Karoly Balogh has set up a nice 3D desktop for the EFIKA using standard Debian Etch packages. He has written a blog about it. Just in case you cannot read Hungarian, Karoly has offered to write a short How-To in English. We will post this to Power Developer shortly.

Nice work Karoly!

Shuffle - a new game for MorphOS

Shuffle is a new game developed by Christian Rosentreter and set for release with MorphOS 2.0. We tried to buy a copy this morning, but Christian has not turned on PayPal yet and now it works!

Hey Christian! Let us do the Shuffle!

In the meanwhile, if you attended PUSH in Sweden or SceneCON in Hungary this past weekend you saw this...

Walking around a market this morning in Brussels, we were reminded how good people can actually be to each other. Our senses were raised by the sounds of different languages, the scent and taste of different spices and foods, and the incredibly mix of cultures and people seen in such a small area. Belgium is very special for this. The Brussels we saw today was exceptionally friendly.

For some time the Internet has been the world's largest public data network.

Have a look inside AmigaHellas - the first issue is out!

SceneCON is this weekend in Budapest. SceneCON is a multi-platform demoscene party and computer arts meeting. It is being held for the second time. The organizers expect attenders to come from all corners of the computing world - retrosceners still active on 20 year old home computers such as the C64 and Amiga up to fans of the latest high-end computers, graphics technologies and consoles, such as the Playstation 3 and XBox360.

The EFIKA is a friendly computer. It is power-efficient. It is open to many operating systems. It is not expensive. It has many uses. EFIKA!

Johan Dams with EFIKA Open Client at an UNESCO Roundtable

Could the EFIKA be your Amiga? The world's amiga? The Canonical folks are ready to support the EFIKA (vs. PowerPC) - a special Ubuntu image for a special piece of hardware. In the meanwhile, MorphOS 2.0 is near release, Tao Group is in Administration and OS4 is locked in a legal fiasco.
