Just a quick note along with all the other exciting news we have had lately...

Genesi was added to Sun's list of supported vendors last week and we made our first sale of the Open Desktop Workstation to Sun. Yeah!

We would like to be able to announce this one day soon:

The PowerPC JBox represents the close, highly productive and targeted collaboration between software and hardware vendors that is essential to facilitate innovation on the PowerPC platform.

Sounds great to us!

Oh, and this too from the Blastware crew. Super!

P.S.

We won!

P.S.

The next All in Wonder is coming and it is more than a graphics card (of course, we still use ATI products!). It is an amalgamation of all the coolest open source software we can find running quietly and coolly on the PowerPC.

Home Entertainment User Interface for the PegasosPPC configured as a Home Entertainment and Communication Device

You can try it out and *more* if you start with a PegasosPPC. We will be showing it all off this week at the Freescale Technology Forum in Orlando.

OK, we are a couple days late, but we have been involved for a while and we just want to say that Sun Microsystems, above all other major players in the IT market, is the innovation leader.

We predict, that in the long run, OpenSolaris will contribute more to the IT universe than Windows or GNU/Linux.

Hey Raquel! That's me!

International Video Messaging

You can try it out and *more* on the Open Desktop Workstation today. Download and watch the video of the video here. Nice work Pieter! :-)

R&B :-)

P.S.

We will get the official Press Release up early next week, but we are ready to *finally* begin the 200 Euro Pegasos I to Pegasos II upgrade offer. The way we see it we sold a Pegasos I that had a technical problem. The problem was 100% related to the buggy Mai Articia ("There is no Mai without April!"). We see this as a warranty matter. The Pegasos I is still a good platform and has been reliably used by many for more than two years, but it is still not _perfect_.

We started selling these today at $799. You can read the Press Release here. We would like to see a Sun certified Java and OpenSolaris running on it soon. There are people working on that.

In the meanwhile, later this week we will also announce our Pegasos I to Pegasos II 200 Euro upgrade offer to original owners.

We are pretty happy with the PowerPC (especially Freescale's) and we like where we are headed with them.

Is the PowerPC Apple dead yet?

Marketing genius (short term), not. What about your developers? What about AltiVec? What about this (thanks James!). On the other hand, what we may have here is another Job(s) who never gave up, ultimately overcomes extreme adversity: "The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first."

Intel has nearly 90% of the revenue coming from the desktop market (IDC). Freescale and IBM weigh in at .6% and .5% respectively.

She dances!

She sings! (in Japanese only for now)

...and she does even more, but you'll have to wait for that! ;-)

She won't be dancing alone on the Open Desktop Workstation much longer, as Pachinkoagogo will be coming to the platform soon.
